CITIZEN CHARTER OF CIVIL DEFENCE, MAHARASHTRA STATE

Slogan:
Civil Defence slogan is “सर्व भूत हिते: रत:” which means Working for the benefit of all living things.

Policy:
As per Disaster Management Act, 2005 Central Government declared 100 Disaster Prone / multi Hazards districts in all over India. Out of that 14 districts declared for Maharashtra State. As per policy of Central Government of India decided to establish Civil Defence in 14 districts of Maharashtra State as district centric town. In first stage Government of India declared Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri & Sindhudurg as a new Civil Defence district which are most vulnerable multi hazard districts.

Aim of Civil Defence:

  • To save life & property and mitigate the sufferings.
  • To minimize the effect of enemy air raid / disaster.
  • To keep high moral of the people and to assist for restorative measures.
  • During peacetime do Civil Defence publicity, propaganda, training and practice of Civil Defence activities.
